The Sennelier oil pastel uses top-quality pigments, an extremely pure synthetic binding medium, and mineral wax, components found in all Sennelier colours. The pigments are ground with an inert, non-siccative binding medium that does not oxidize, ensuring film stability and surface integrity. This base is mixed with neutral pH wax, providing a creamy texture for expressive freedom. Sennelier oil pastels have an extraordinarily high pigment content, offering excellent colouring and covering potential, brightness, and light stability (excluding metallic and fluorescent shades).
